What To Do With Social Media Posts That Flop
We have all had to deal with social media posts that flop. It is a frustrating experience to put time and effort into creating content that doesn't perform well. Here's a look at what do with posts that fall a little short.
This actually recently happened to a Brandakin post! 😱
I put a lot of work into some content and posted it, hoping to see big results. Nope. The stats were low: 100 likes, 80 shares and 12 saves.
I let the content sit for a bit while continuing to post. Guess what happened? A week after posting, that flopped content picked up like crazy. 970 likes, 720 shares and 107 saves. WHAT?!? 🤯
Here's the takeaway from this Brandakin experience: consistency is key. Instead of hyper-focusing on the immediate impact (or lack thereof) of individual posts, continue working toward overall goals. And don't delete those "flopped" posts!
If I had deleted my "flopped" posted because it didn't see immediate engagement, I would have missed out on SO MUCH ACTIVITY.
If social media content isn't doing as well as you thought or hoped it would, learn from it!
When you post it again, what should you consider changing? Should you switch up the caption, graphic, photo, reel or something else? Would adding a stronger hook or a piece of trending audio help?
It's tempting to delete social media posts that don't perform as well as others. But people don't see the low numbers - they see consistency. They see you showing up for your business.
So please, don't delete those flopped posts! The pros of the experience far outweigh the cons. Keep creating and learning - and maybe in the meantime, you'll see those "flopped" numbers grow.
